Our AED Program Winners!
Last year, we took nominations for schools/school districts in the local Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky or Southeast Indiana for our Take Charge AED Program, which will enable twenty Zoll AED units to be installed by Cintas Corporation. We developed this program because according to the American Heart Association, more than 7,000 children were affected by sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) last year. When a victim collapses from SCA, high-quality CPR and AEDs are their best chance of survival. Less than 25% of schools in the U.S. have adequate access to life-saving AEDs on campus. While the pandemic did cause some delays, we are happy to say that we were able to move forward with the program. Please see the winning schools below!
- St. Dominic School – Cincinnati, OH
- St. Joseph School – Crescent Springs, KY
- St. Cecelia School – Independence, KY
- Sunman Dearborn Schools – St. Leon, IN
- Oak Hills Local School District – Cincinnati, OH
“We’re honored to have the opportunity to provide these schools with life-saving equipment and training,” said Terry Karageorges, President of the Congenital Heart Alliance of Cincinnati. “Thanks to the support from Anthem, Cintas and ZOLL, these local schools will have the tools and knowledge necessary to respond to a cardiac emergency.” Click here for the full press release.
