When Desiree Osei-Bobie learned at 25 weeks that her baby would be born with congenital heart disease, she embarked on an unexpected journey—one that led her to the Congenital Heart Alliance and the Heart Institute at Cincinnati Children’s. Determined to find support and prepare for the challenges ahead, she sought knowledge, guidance, and hope.
A Mother’s Testimony of Faith and Healing
“Neria’s journey is a true testament to God’s grace and healing power. Before she was born, doctors told us she would need immediate heart surgery after birth. But just a week later, we received incredible news—she no longer needed the procedure. God had healed the part of her heart that required the first surgery.”
Originally, doctors anticipated Neria would need three surgeries. But thanks to this unexpected healing, only two are now required. In July 2024, she bravely underwent her first open-heart surgery—an overwhelming milestone that was a success. She spent just a few days in the CICU and Interstage before coming home, where she made a remarkable recovery.
“We are beyond grateful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for keeping our baby safe. A huge thank you to the amazing doctors, surgeons, and nurses at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for their care and dedication. Neria may still need another surgery in the future, but we continue to pray and believe in another miracle.”
